About

Claire Murphy

Meet Claire

Living Eulogy Your Way offers compassionate support through life’s most vulnerable moments — from new diagnoses to end-of-life planning.

Founded by Claire, a nurse with 28 years’ experience in oncology and palliative care, this work is both professional and deeply personal. The passing of our beautiful mum made me reflect on how we do care within our health system — and how families often need a clear advocate, someone consistent, so they don’t have to keep reliving their story at every step.

Our mum did her final chapter her own way.

That experience opened my heart to new possibilities:

  • Can we rethink how we offer eulogies?

  • Can we guide people through end-of-life with more dignity, more presence, and more choice?

What I’ve observed is that anxiety and distress in our healthcare system are more common than we like to admit — and often, people are left feeling rushed, unseen, or alone. That’s why I now offer a gentle alternative: the option of a doula or companion to walk beside you — your way.

As a social enterprise, part of our profits go back into supporting the carers who support others, through self-care resources and workshops.

You don’t have to face this alone.

We’re here to hold space, listen deeply, and honour your story — with compassion and care. This can be through every stage of living From Living well from diagnosis of a life limiting, changing diagnosis through to palliative management and terminal illness.

Is our Living Eulogy Companion Service the right fit for you and your family?

We invite you to connect with us to discuss your needs and explore how we can support you during this profound journey.

"I'm sorry":

This phrase acknowledges responsibility for one's actions and any pain caused.

"Please forgive me":

This expresses a desire for forgiveness, both from others and oneself.

"Thank you":

This signifies gratitude for the process of healing and for the forgiveness received.

"I love you": This is a declaration of self-love and love for others, encompassing all aspects of life.

These phrases are what Claire has heard a lot while caring for the terminally ill and end if life patients throughout her career.

Ho'oponopono is an ancient Hawaiian practice for forgiveness and reconciliation. It’s more than a prayer, it's a process of making things right in our relationships - with our ancestors, the deities, the earth, those people that we love, and ourselves. It is the act and intention of holding a space for reflection, repentance, forgiveness, and gratitude.”
